Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth allegedly shared flight schedules for U.S. airstrikes in Yemen via a private Signal group chat that included his wife, brother, and personal lawyer, according to The New York Times. The chat, titled “Defense | Team Huddle,” was used on March 15 to relay sensitive information about attacks on Houthi targets.

Hegseth’s wife, Jennifer, a former Fox News producer, and his attorney, Tim Parlatore, are not part of the Pentagon’s military command. The chat also included Dan Caldwell and Darin Selnick, two former senior aides recently fired amid a broader leak investigation. The Pentagon says no classified information was shared.

Defense Department spokesperson Sean Parnell defended the chat, calling media coverage “another old story back from the dead,” and said it reflected informal communications among close advisers.

The revelations come as the Pentagon’s inspector general continues to investigate Hegseth’s prior use of Signal to coordinate with media and discuss military action. Critics warn such practices blur lines of operational security.
