Vice President Kamala Harris energized a crowd in Georgia, targeting former President Trump on issues like border security. “The momentum in this race is shifting,” Harris said in Atlanta, noting Trump’s hesitation to debate in November. “Well Donald, I do hope you’ll reconsider to meet me on the debate stage.” Going on to say “If you got something to say, say it to my face.”

Harris emphasized Georgia’s importance, where Biden won by a narrow margin in 2020, and promised to sign bipartisan immigration legislation if elected. “In this campaign, I will proudly put my record against his any day,” she said, highlighting her prosecutorial success against gangs and traffickers in California. She criticized Trump for failing to secure the border effectively.

She pledged to revive and sign the border security bill that Senate Republicans, urged by Trump, previously blocked. Harris also addressed economic issues, vowing to curb price gouging and cap rent and prescription drug prices.

Harris promised to pass voting rights bills, including the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, opposing Georgia’s restrictive election laws. The rally featured performances by rappers Quavo and Megan Thee Stallion, who supported Harris’s campaign and encouraged voter turnout. “We’re about to make history with our first female president,” said Megan Thee Stallion.
