Future Forward, the leading super PAC aligned with President Joe Biden, secured $150 million in new commitments from major Democratic donors within 24 hours of Biden announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 race.

The substantial fundraising, shared first with POLITICO by a senior Future Forward aide, significantly boosts Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden’s endorsed successor. Future Forward already had $122 million on hand as of June, per Federal Election Commission filings.

Harris’s campaign has also seen a surge in contributions, raising nearly $50 million since Biden’s announcement. Additionally, tens of millions more have been raised via ActBlue, benefiting down-ballot campaigns.

Previously, major Democratic donors had threatened to withhold donations after Biden’s weak debate performance in June. These donors, who had pledged $150 million, are now fully committed.

“Future Forward will continue working to ensure Donald Trump is defeated in this election,” a senior aide stated. Future Forward had already reserved $250 million in TV and digital advertising earlier this year.
