WASHINGTON, D.C. — Three former FBI agents have filed a federal lawsuit against FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi, alleging they were wrongfully terminated for their involvement in investigations related to President Donald Trump.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court, claims the agents — Jamie Garman, Blaire Toleman, and Michelle Ball, were dismissed without notice or charges, violating their First and Fifth Amendment rights. According to the complaint, all three had strong service records and were removed despite years of work at the bureau.
The plaintiffs are seeking reinstatement and an injunction to prevent further adverse actions. The Justice Department and FBI declined to comment on the case, citing ongoing litigation.
The firings come as part of broader personnel changes within federal law enforcement since Trump returned to office. Roughly 45 FBI agents have reportedly been dismissed, many of whom were involved in investigations tied to Trump, including the 2020 election probe led by former special counsel Jack Smith.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche recently stated that the DOJ and FBI had “cleaned house,” removing agents connected to prior Trump-related prosecutions. He added that no agents involved in those cases remain in the bureau.
This is not the first lawsuit of its kind. Earlier this month, two other former agents filed a similar complaint, alleging they were dismissed solely due to their investigative roles.
The case adds to ongoing legal and political disputes surrounding personnel decisions and the handling of high-profile federal investigations.
