WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa.), one of the few Democrats who has occasionally defended President Donald Trump, said Wednesday that newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein referencing Trump are “absolutely troubling” and should prompt full transparency from federal authorities. Speaking on CNN’s Inside Politics with Dana Bash, Fetterman said he has followed the revelations closely and believes all Department of Justice and FBI records related to Epstein should be made public.

“My understanding is that now that the House is back, they have enough to activate that discharge petition — I think everything should come out,” Fetterman said. “Enough people agree that it should just come out and just see where this goes and follow the evidence.”

The comments came after House Democrats released 2010s-era emails showing Epstein telling associates that “of course [Trump] knew about the girls” and that the former president “spent hours” with one of his victims. In one 2011 message to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein reportedly described Trump as “a dog that hasn’t barked.”

The White House dismissed the emails, accusing Democrats of “selectively leaking” documents to “create a fake narrative.” Epstein died in federal custody in 2019, and Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking minors while seeking a commutation from the Trump administration.
