Elon Musk briefly joined a phone call between President-elect Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to a source. Musk, who supported Trump’s campaign in the final weeks of the 2024 election, reportedly entered the room unexpectedly and greeted Zelenskyy without contributing to the main discussion. The call’s purpose focused on maintaining close U.S.-Ukraine cooperation, which Zelenskyy described as “excellent.”
Trump has claimed he could resolve the Ukraine conflict quickly, though he has not provided a detailed plan. During his only debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump avoided stating a clear preference for Ukraine’s victory, suggesting that a deal should end the conflict. Vice President-elect JD Vance has echoed a similar stance, indicating Ukraine may need to consider territorial concessions.
Musk, who has previously assisted Ukraine by providing Starlink internet service after the Russian invasion, has also stirred controversy with comments suggesting Ukraine might cede territories, a position criticized by Ukrainian officials. The Wall Street Journal reported Musk has also communicated with Russian President Vladimir Putin, adding another layer to his involvement in the conflict.
