A Department of Justice task force has accused the Biden administration of systemic discrimination against Christians, according to a June report. The Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias said its review uncovered “unequal treatment” of Christians across federal departments, including marginalization of Christian beliefs and limited protection for Christian institutions.

The report alleges that under Biden, agencies such as the State Department provided “muted” responses to attacks on Christians while prioritizing other groups. It also claims the DOJ enforced laws unevenly—citing arrests of individuals praying outside abortion clinics under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, while failing to equally protect pro-life organizations and places of worship.

The Biden administration had emphasized religious tolerance, notably through the Office of Religious Freedom. However, the task force says this commitment did not translate into equitable treatment.

Now under the Trump administration, the task force pledged to ensure faith groups receive equal protection under the law, with a follow-up report expected in February.
