Washington, D.C. A newly released tranche of Jeffrey Epstein records from the U.S. Department of Justice places President Donald Trump prominently throughout thousands of pages of investigative material, intensifying scrutiny over the administration’s handling of the disclosures. The latest release includes roughly 29,000 pages of documents and dozens of video files, many of which contain redactions, according to the Justice Department.

The documents include repeated references to Trump, including records tied to Epstein’s private aircraft, photographs, and investigative leads reviewed by federal authorities. While the files do not accuse Trump of criminal wrongdoing, lawmakers and victims’ advocates say the volume of references underscores why full transparency is necessary under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which Congress passed overwhelmingly last month.

The Trump administration has faced bipartisan criticism for releasing the material in stages rather than meeting the law’s deadline for complete disclosure. Epstein survivors said only a small portion of the records have been made accessible and that many documents are heavily or unusually redacted, making it difficult to determine context or relevance.

Trump addressed the issue Monday, dismissing the files as a political distraction and arguing they were being used to undermine Republican momentum ahead of the 2026 midterms. Meanwhile, Reps. Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Ro Khanna of California warned they may pursue contempt proceedings against Attorney General Pam Bondi, citing continued delays and incomplete compliance.

The Justice Department said additional Epstein-related records will be released on a rolling basis, though lawmakers argue the law requires full and immediate disclosure, particularly where high-profile public officials are repeatedly referenced.
