Senator Bob Casey (D-Pa.) conceded to Republican Dave McCormick in the Pennsylvania Senate race after a narrow loss. With 99.8% of votes counted, McCormick led Casey by just over 16,000 votes, at 48.8% to 48.6%.
“I just called Dave McCormick to congratulate him on his election,” Casey said in a video on X, emphasizing the integrity of the ballot count. McCormick expressed gratitude, praising Casey’s service and pledging to fight for all Pennsylvanians in the Senate.
McCormick’s win strengthens the Republican majority in the Senate, now at 53 seats, bolstering GOP efforts to confirm President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees. Republicans will control the White House and both chambers of Congress in January.
