President Biden expressed concerns about the potential for former President Donald Trump to fill two Supreme Court vacancies if he wins the 2024 election, calling it “one of the scariest parts” of a second Trump term.

Speaking at a fundraiser that raised $28 million and featured stars like George Clooney and Julia Roberts, Biden emphasized the significant impact Trump had on abortion rights by appointing conservative justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. Biden highlighted the likelihood of the next president appointing two justices, referencing a recent incident involving Justice Samuel Alito and his wife’s display of an upside-down flag.

Biden previously nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, the first Black woman to serve. He reiterated his intention to appoint progressive judges, emphasizing the transformative effect on issues like voting rights and affirmative action.
