Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon warned Thursday that President Donald Trump could go to prison if a Democrat wins the presidency in 2028.
“God forbid we don’t win in ’28, President Trump is going to prison,” Bannon said during an appearance on Real America’s Voice. He added, “We’re at war,” referencing recent developments as signs of ongoing political conflict.
Trump’s second term has triggered numerous legal battles, with courts pausing several major executive actions, including mass firings of federal workers and immigration crackdowns. His administration’s defiance of judicial rulings has raised fears of a constitutional crisis.
Trump’s ongoing legal troubles have mostly stalled. Special counsel Jack Smith dropped two federal cases after Trump’s 2024 win, citing DOJ policy against prosecuting sitting presidents. A Georgia case remains open but inactive, and Trump was convicted on 34 felony counts in a New York hush money case.
Bannon also suggested Democrats are planning to reclaim the House in 2026 to potentially impeach Trump, stating, “Democrats are pulling all stops out to stop President Trump.”
