The political group Republican Voters Against Trump has launched an ad campaign suggesting that former President Trump, due to his four criminal indictments, would be unable to secure a job at a local shopping mall. The ad features a man claiming to have 88 felonies and asking store managers if they would hire someone found liable of sexual assault or who tried to overturn the 2020 election.

The ad’s message is that if Trump is too much of a liability to work at a mall, he is too much of a liability to be president. The ad will air nationally on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” and Fox News’s “Fox & Friends,” and digitally in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The campaign coincides with Trump’s ongoing criminal trial in Manhattan, where he faces 34 charges related to allegations of falsifying business records. Trump, who is the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, made history last week as the first former or current U.S. president to face a criminal trial in the U.S.

The ad aims to target swing voters rather than Trump’s MAGA base. Gunner Ramer, the group’s political director, stated that the message they’re sending is that Donald Trump is unfit for office.
