St. Paul, Minnesota — President Donald Trump endorsed MyPillow founder Mike Lindell in Minnesota’s governor’s race, giving one of his most visible allies a boost ahead of the state’s Aug. 11 Republican primary.
Trump praised Lindell on Truth Social as a “hard working Patriot” and said he had his “complete and total endorsement.” Lindell entered the race in December and is part of a crowded GOP field seeking to replace outgoing Democratic Gov. Tim Walz.
Lindell is running against several Republican candidates, including State House Speaker Lisa Demuth and Kendall Qualls. On the Democratic side, Sen. Amy Klobuchar is viewed as the frontrunner.
Lindell has remained a prominent Trump supporter and has promoted false claims that the 2020 election was stolen. The Hill reported that his campaign also follows a federal judge’s ruling that he defamed Smartmatic with false claims about voting machines.
Trump’s endorsement ties the Minnesota race more closely to national debates over election integrity, fraud allegations, and the direction of the Republican Party.
