DETROIT, Mich. — Federal prosecutors have charged three additional suspects in connection with an alleged ISIS-inspired terror plot that authorities say was thwarted in Michigan over Halloween weekend.

The new suspects, identified as Ayob Nasser, 19, of Dearborn, and two New Jersey residents, Tomas Kaan Jimenez Guzel and Milo Sedarat, both 19, face federal terrorism-related charges. Nasser and two previously arrested Michigan men — Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud, both 20 — allegedly conspired to provide material support to ISIS and planned an attack using AR-style rifles.

Federal officials say the group scouted gay bars in suburban Detroit, drawing inspiration from the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida. Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba said the complaint also describes antisemitic threats and weapons purchases by Sedarat, who was charged in New Jersey.

U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgon Jr. said authorities will “follow the tentacles where they lead,” pledging continued vigilance against terrorism. Defense attorneys for one suspect called the accusations “unfounded.”

The investigation remains ongoing across multiple states, including Washington, New Jersey, and Michigan.
