ASHEBORO, North Carolina — A Randolph County man is facing multiple criminal charges after deputies say a drug investigation led to the discovery of illegal drugs, firearms and a weapon classified as a weapon of mass destruction.
According to reporting from WFMY News 2, deputies searched the Rose Avenue home of Justin Curtis Pugh on March 3 and seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, marijuana, alprazolam and buprenorphine.
Authorities also recovered five firearms during the search. One of the weapons was classified under North Carolina law as a weapon of mass destruction. Deputies said an additional firearm was found in Pugh’s pocket at the time of his arrest.
Pugh was taken into custody and remains held at the Randolph County Detention Center after being denied bond during his first court appearance on March 4.
He faces several charges, including felony drug trafficking, possession with intent to manufacture or sell controlled substances, maintaining a dwelling for drug activity, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a weapon of mass destruction and possession of a firearm by a felon.
