The Nevada Republican Party is promoting the idea of a state-run high-security immigration detention facility, dubbed the “Coyote Compound,” in a fundraising email sent August 8. The proposal mirrors Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz,” a recently opened facility in the Everglades with 5,000 beds, which has faced sharp criticism for poor conditions, lack of transparency, and environmental issues.
The email urges recipients to take a poll on the idea before directing them to a donation page. Critics, including the ACLU, have condemned Florida’s facility over reports of maggot-infested food, denial of medical care, and inadequate access to water and sanitation. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis authorized $245 million in taxpayer funding for the site.
Nevada Republican leaders, including Gov. Joe Lombardo and Senate Minority Leader Robin Titus, have not commented. The fundraising pitch coincided with Lombardo’s confirmation that the Nevada National Guard will assist President Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans.
Laura Martin of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada called the proposal “violent” and “racist,” accusing GOP leaders of pursuing divisive rhetoric instead of policies that benefit all residents.

Can’t believe under a name like “news facts nation” I read a story where the author is proclaiming that “CRITICS” including the ACLU, have condemned alagater Alcatraz over reports of several things and listed a bunch….are u kidding me so not only are the CRITICS and the ACLU going with “REPORTS MADE” as facts instead of finding factual evidence of the wrong but now I’ll be expecting more stations to pick up on it now sighting news facts nation as the source that 1st reported on reports that ACLU heard that critics heard, that people are saying they heard there have been reports made of mistreatment, I’m mean come on dude take so acting classes or something maybe u can at least act like u got integrity…I’m no trump guy but, Im starting to see his point.
