Edmond, OK — A shooting at a lakeside gathering near Oklahoma City Sunday night left at least 12 people hospitalized, according to police and hospital officials.
Authorities said gunfire broke out around 9 p.m. at a party near Arcadia Lake, a popular recreational area in Edmond. Police spokesperson Emily Ward confirmed that officers responded quickly but had not made any arrests as of late Sunday.
Victims were transported to nearby hospitals, with some taken by emergency responders and others arriving on their own. Officials reported that those injured were in varying conditions and still being evaluated late into the night.
“We understand the concern from the public and those involved and we are working extremely hard to find the suspects,” Ward said, noting that investigators are interviewing witnesses across the metro area.
Arcadia Lake, located about 13 miles north of Oklahoma City, is commonly used for boating, fishing, and large gatherings. A flyer circulating on social media indicated an event called “Sunday Funday” had been planned at the location.
The incident adds to ongoing concerns about public safety at large gatherings, though authorities have not yet released details about a motive or suspects. The investigation remains active.
