GARFIELD COUNTY, Colorado — Tyler Boebert, the 21-year-old son of Rep. Lauren Boebert, has been arrested on five felony charges involving the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor.
Court records show Boebert faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The allegations stem from early 2024.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by Colorado Politics and The Denver Gazette, investigators allege Boebert recorded himself having sex with a 17-year-old girl when he was 18 and later shared the video. Authorities began investigating after explicit images and videos involving minors appeared on an anonymous Instagram account. Investigators suspect Boebert created the account and posted additional material involving other people. Six others also face charges in connection with the investigation.
Boebert was arrested Sunday by the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and released the same day after posting a $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in district court Aug. 19.
Rep. Boebert said her family takes the allegations “very seriously” and is praying for everyone affected.
Tyler Boebert was also arrested in 2024 in connection with vehicle break-ins and stolen property.
The current charges remain allegations, and Boebert has not been convicted.
