The U.S. Supreme Court is being asked by Congress and former President Donald Trump to intervene in his federal case related to the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Democratic members of Congress have written to the Judicial Conference of the United States, requesting televised coverage of Trump’s case to ensure transparency and public access.
Trump, however, is seeking to have the case dismissed altogether, claiming that the charges are a flimsy attempt by President Biden to hinder his potential 2024 campaign.
