Former U.S. President Donald Trump likened himself to anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela during a campaign rally in New Hampshire. Addressing his legal challenges, Trump stated, “I don’t mind being Nelson Mandela because I’m doing it for a reason.” He claimed federal and state prosecutors are targeting him due to his political stance.
Currently facing four criminal indictments and numerous civil trials, Trump remains undeterred in his quest to return to the White House. The rally also saw Trump criticize President Joe Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas conflict, calling it “a grotesque betrayal of Israel.”
Trump vowed to build an Iron Dome-inspired defense shield over the United States and focused much of his speech on the criminal and civil cases against him. “We’ve got to save our country from these fascists, these lunatics that we’re dealing with. They’re horrible people, and they’re destroying our country,” he told supporters.
