Juan Merchan, the presiding judge in Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial, announced that he is considering jail time for the former president due to repeated violations of the gag order.

Despite already imposing $9,000 in fines, the judge found that the monetary penalties were not serving as an effective deterrent. Trump is facing his 10th contempt of court charge in this ongoing trial.
