President Trump is planning a large-scale military parade in Washington, D.C., next month to mark the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary — and it could cost between $25 million and $45 million, according to an Army spokesperson.
Scheduled for June 14 — also Trump’s birthday — the celebration will feature thousands of service members, 150 military vehicles, and 50 aircraft along a nearly four-mile route stretching from the Pentagon to the White House. Nonactive veterans, including those who served in the Vietnam War, will also participate.
The Army confirmed that as many as 5,000 troops will be housed in federal office buildings, including General Services Administration and Agriculture Department properties. Final logistics are still being finalized.
“We have the greatest weapons in the world. And we’re going to celebrate it,” Trump said in a recent Meet the Press interview.
Planning began last year, with cooperation from Washington’s local government and Army engineers.
