WASHINGTON, District of Columbia — President Donald Trump on Friday publicly endorsed Vice President JD Vance’s claims about the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, repeating allegations that critics say are unsupported by evidence.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said Vance was “generally very accurate” when asked about the vice president’s assertion that Good was connected to a shadowy “leftwing network” attempting to incite violence against federal agents. Trump went further, suggesting that at least one person near Good at the time of the shooting was “probably a paid agitator.”

Trump pointed to video footage of the incident in which a witness can be heard repeatedly shouting “shame” as ICE agents confronted Good and later opened fire. According to Trump, the repetition and volume of the shouting indicated the presence of a “professional troublemaker,” rather than a spontaneous reaction to a deadly encounter.

It remains unclear whether the person shouting was the individual recording the video or another bystander nearby. The footage shows the word “shame” being shouted multiple times both as agents attempted to remove Good from her vehicle and afterward as an officer walked away from the scene.

Trump also complained that the witness’s reaction made the video difficult to watch, arguing that ordinary people do not respond that way to traumatic events. He concluded by reaffirming his administration’s support for ICE and federal law enforcement, saying they would “always be protected.”
