The U.S. may need another lockdown if coronavirus cases rise “Dramatically,” the Centers for Disease Control warned Friday in its first briefing about the pandemic since March.
Jay C. Butler, CDC’s deputy director of infectious diseases, said: “If cases begin to go up again, and particularly if they go up dramatically, it’s important to recognize that more mitigation efforts such as what were implemented back in March may be needed again.”
