Vice President JD Vance says he hopes former presidential adviser and Tesla CEO Elon Musk will rejoin the MAGA movement before the 2026 midterm elections, calling it a “mistake” for Musk to be at odds with President Donald Trump.
In an interview with The Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft, Vance acknowledged the strained relationship between Trump and Musk, which soured after Musk opposed Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” over deficit concerns, sparking a public feud.
“My hope is that by the time of the midterms, he’s kind of come back into the fold,” Vance said, adding that Musk is unlikely to be embraced by the Left after aligning with Trump in the past.
Vance urged unity within the movement, saying political disagreements should not prevent collaboration. “We have to kind of win with the whole movement together,” he said.
He noted Musk played a key role in Trump’s last election victory and expressed optimism that tensions could ease in time for the midterms. “Knock on wood,” Vance added.
