President Donald Trump declared that Iran would be “obliterated” if it attempted an attack on him, stating, “That would be the end. I’ve left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left.”
Trump’s warning came as he signed executive orders reinstating his maximum pressure campaign on Iran, which includes economic sanctions and diplomatic isolation. His administration also withdrew the U.S. from the U.N. Human Rights Council and the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
Trump has long taken a hardline stance against Iran, previously ordering the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani in 2020.
