A Politico|Morning Consult poll shows voter opinions changed significantly after Donald Trump’s win over Kamala Harris. Pre-election, 87% of Trump voters worried about fraud, but this fell to 36% afterward. Harris voters also showed reduced concern. Support for mail voting and voter ID laws remained split along partisan lines.
Economic perceptions also shifted. Before the election, 8% of Trump voters felt the economy was on the “right track,” rising to 28% after Trump’s victory. Harris supporters’ optimism dropped from 59% to 46%.
Trump voters expressed optimism for his presidency, while Harris supporters were mostly pessimistic. Opinions on pardoning January 6 defendants were sharply divided, with most Harris voters opposing it and a majority of Trump voters supportive. Both groups expected pardons to happen.
The poll underscores ongoing partisan divides in outlooks on democracy, national security, and public health under a second Trump term.
