In a Thursday Truth Social post, former President Donald Trump called for Vice President Kamala Harris to be investigated and removed from the Democratic ticket, arguing that this would allow President Joe Biden to “take back his rightful place” as the party’s 2024 nominee. Trump did not provide details on what Harris should be investigated for but emphasized that Biden should be at the top of the Democratic ticket, after Biden exited the race earlier this year, leading to Harris becoming Trump’s main rival in the election.
In the same post, Trump repeated his demand for CBS to “lose its license,” citing a complaint by the Center for American Rights alleging that the network distorted a 60 Minutes interview with Harris. However, the FCC only regulates individual stations and cannot revoke network licenses, a point reiterated by FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel, who has previously condemned Trump’s attempts as threats against free speech.
