Former President Donald Trump, addressing the National Rifle Association (NRA), urged gun owners to vote in the 2024 election. Trump claimed the Second Amendment is under threat if President Joe Biden wins another term, accusing Biden of trying to seize firearms from law-abiding citizens.
Trump pledged to continue defending the Second Amendment, which he claims is “under siege.” He criticized Biden for his efforts to combat gun violence, including a new rule targeting unlicensed dealers who sell guns without performing background checks.
Trump also criticized independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., calling him a “radical left” and a “disaster.” He dismissed Kennedy’s previous characterization of the NRA as a “terror group,” countering that he sees them as the “backbone of America.”
Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee announced the creation of a new “Gun Owners for Trump” coalition. Meanwhile, Biden has made reducing gun violence a key part of his administration and reelection campaign, establishing the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
Trump also discussed the criminal cases against him, accusing Democrats of orchestrating these because he is Biden’s opponent. He criticized Biden’s border policies and warned Republicans not to be extreme on abortion to remain electable.
