WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump has rescinded his endorsement of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) following her criticism of Republican leadership during the recent government shutdown and her push to release the alleged Epstein files. In a Truth Social post Friday night, Trump called Greene a “ranting lunatic” who has “gone far-left,” adding that he would back a primary challenger in Georgia’s 14th Congressional District.
“All I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is complain,” Trump wrote, saying she became disloyal after he discouraged her from pursuing higher office. Greene recently broke with her party by supporting healthcare subsidies and blaming Republicans for lacking an alternative to the Affordable Care Act during the shutdown. She was also one of four Republicans to sign a discharge petition forcing a House vote on the Epstein files.
Greene responded on X, accusing Trump of lying about her and opposing the Epstein release. “It’s astonishing how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out,” she said, adding that she remains “America First, America Only.”
Trump later told reporters he already had potential challengers lined up, citing Greene’s growing criticism of his foreign policy and media appearances.
