Former President Donald Trump will participate in a Fox News town hall next week, aiming to appeal to female voters, a group he has historically struggled with. The event will be taped in Cumming, Georgia, on Tuesday and aired Wednesday morning. Fox News host Harris Faulkner will moderate the event, stressing the importance of women understanding where the candidates stand on key issues.
Fox News has also invited Vice President Kamala Harris to a similar event. Polls show Trump trailing among women, with an ABC News/Ipsos poll from September showing Harris leading Trump by 9 points (53% to 44%). A New York Times/Siena College poll found Harris ahead by 11 points (53% to 42%). Trump continues to perform better with male voters.
In the 2020 election, women made up 52% of the electorate, with 57% voting for President Biden and 42% for Trump.
