As the election season intensifies post-Labor Day, former President Donald Trump’s legal battles are set to resurface in the headlines. A status hearing for Trump’s January 6 case is scheduled for Thursday in Washington. This case has been on hold following a Supreme Court ruling on presidential immunity. The upcoming hearing will address unresolved issues, including which charges may proceed and potentially set a new trial date.

Later in the month, on September 16, a New York City judge will rule on whether Trump’s felony convictions can stand in light of the Supreme Court’s immunity decision. If the case remains in state court and Trump loses his appeal, sentencing is set for September 18, with possible prison time ranging from no minimum to up to four years. Trump’s court appearances have historically energized his supporters, and it remains to be seen how these developments will impact his base as Election Day approaches.
