President Donald Trump dismissed concerns over Elon Musk’s criticism of the Stargate AI infrastructure project, which Trump recently announced alongside OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, and SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son.
When asked if Musk’s remarks bothered him, Trump replied, “No, it doesn’t. He hates one of the people in the deal… but I have certain hatreds of people too.” Musk, an adviser to Trump, publicly questioned the project’s funding, claiming SoftBank has “well under $10 billion secured.”
Altman responded to Musk’s criticism on the platform X, saying, “Want to come visit the first site already underway? This is great for the country.” Musk continued attacking OpenAI, particularly its transition to a for-profit model.
The Stargate project aims to develop energy-intensive infrastructure to support AI growth. On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order to enhance U.S. AI investments and position the country as a global leader in the technology.
