WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump said Saturday that he “doesn’t care” whether federal files related to Jeffrey Epstein are made public, as the House prepares to vote on a petition that could force the Department of Justice to release all Epstein records.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, “I don’t care about it, released or not,” but urged journalists to investigate Epstein’s “friends,” including former President Bill Clinton, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and executives from JP Morgan Chase.

“What I think you should do is go into Epstein’s friends,” Trump said. “Bill Clinton went there supposedly 28 times. You’re going to have to look into his friends.” He also alleged that Epstein “dictated a couple of memos” about Trump while he was president.

Earlier that day, Trump posted on Truth Social that he would direct Attorney General Pam Bondi, the DOJ, and the FBI to investigate Clinton, Hoffman, Summers, and JP Morgan.

Hoffman responded on X, calling Trump’s statements “political persecution” and saying he supports full transparency. “Simply release all the files and expose the people who had both deep and ongoing relationships with Epstein,” he wrote, adding he would “do everything in my power to advocate for justice for Epstein’s victims.”
