Donald Trump defended Attorney General Pam Bondi on Saturday amid mounting backlash over her handling of documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein, praising her as “fantastic” and calling on his administration to end the infighting. Bondi is facing pressure from MAGA allies after the Justice Department and FBI concluded Epstein died by suicide and no “client list” exists.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump suggested the Epstein files were fabricated by political opponents and warned supporters not to fall into their trap. “Selfish people are trying to hurt [the administration], all over a guy who never dies,” he wrote.

Trump claimed critics of Bondi were “playing right into the hands” of Democrats and the media, and urged FBI Director Kash Patel and others to redirect their efforts toward voter fraud investigations. “Let Pam Bondi do her job — she’s great!” he added.

Reality check: The president does not have legal authority to cancel or redirect federal investigations at will. Independent probes by the DOJ and FBI operate under legal frameworks and are bound by the rule of law.

Reports of internal tensions, including alleged resignation threats from top FBI officials, have fueled broader MAGA unrest. Patel denied any plans to resign, while Dan Bongino has remained publicly silent after skipping work on Friday.
