President Donald Trump defended his extensive use of executive orders and federal restructuring, asserting their constitutionality. In a Truth Social post, he quoted Napoleon Bonaparte: “He who saves his Country does not violate any Law.”

The administration faces nearly 60 lawsuits alleging executive overreach. Since taking office, Trump has aimed to reduce federal government size and budget, establishing the Department of Government Efficiency under Elon Musk. This initiative has led to significant layoffs, with no intervention from Congress or the Supreme Court.

In Trump v. United States, the Supreme Court ruled that the president has broad immunity for official acts, stating, “The President may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers.”

Vice President JD Vance echoed this sentiment, arguing that judges lack authority to dictate executive actions. “Judges aren’t allowed to control the executive’s legitimate power,” he posted on X.
