President Trump on Sunday escalated his criticism of Harvard University, calling for the school to disclose the identities and countries of origin of its international students. Speaking from Morristown, N.J., Trump said foreign students make up “almost 31 percent” of Harvard’s population and claimed they take spots from U.S. applicants—though Harvard data shows the actual number is 27%.

Trump warned he may halt federal grants to Harvard, accusing the university of lacking transparency and resisting efforts to curb DEI programs and pro-Palestinian campus demonstrations. He reiterated demands that Harvard share student information, saying, “We want those names and countries.”

Last week, DHS revoked Harvard’s certification to enroll foreign students. The university responded with a lawsuit, arguing the move threatens its academic mission and violates constitutional protections.

A federal judge has since temporarily blocked the revocation. Harvard President Alan Garber accused the administration of retaliating over the school’s refusal to “surrender academic independence.”
