President Donald Trump on Saturday night urged Attorney General Pam Bondi to take action against several of his political rivals, escalating pressure on the Justice Department.
“We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!”
Trump singled out former FBI Director James Comey, who oversaw the Russia investigation; Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA), who led Trump’s first impeachment; and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who successfully sued Trump in 2022 for alleged financial fraud. Trump noted that while the case’s financial penalty was later voided, he still considered James “very guilty of something.”
In follow-up posts, Trump praised Bondi as “doing a GREAT job” and lauded Lindsey Halligan, a White House aide and former Trump attorney, as his nominee to replace Erik Siebert as U.S. attorney in Virginia after Siebert’s resignation. Trump claimed Siebert was effectively fired, criticizing his ties to Virginia’s Democratic senators.
The White House said Trump wants “justice and accountability for the many corrupt criminals and politicians who weaponized our justice system against him and his millions of patriotic supporters.”
