President-elect Donald Trump told GOP senators he aims to issue up to 100 executive orders, with many focused on immigration, according to Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-N.D.). Immigration adviser Stephen Miller discussed reinstating Title 42, a policy expelling asylum-seekers during the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of Trump’s first-day agenda.

During a two-hour Capitol meeting, Trump and Republican senators debated strategies for advancing his key policies, including border security, energy, defense, and tax relief. Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) and Budget Chair Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) advocated for separate bills, while Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) supported a single comprehensive package.
