The Trump administration is preparing to revoke the legal status of over 530,000 migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela who entered the U.S. under a Biden-era program, according to internal documents reviewed by CBS News.
The Department of Homeland Security proposal would fully terminate the CHNV program, which allowed migrants to enter legally if they had U.S. sponsors. The Biden administration argued it reduced illegal immigration, but Trump officials claim it misused immigration parole.

Migrants who have not applied for asylum, green cards, or Temporary Protected Status would lose work eligibility and face deportation proceedings. The timeline for finalizing the plan remains unclear.

Earlier this month, Trump authorized federal immigration agents to begin deporting those admitted under Biden-era policies, including CHNV. DHS has not commented on the plan.
