President Donald Trump stirred up fresh controversy on Saturday after sharing an AI-generated video on his Truth Social account, illustrating himself as a king piloting a fighter jet and dumping brown sludge on protesters. This release coincided with nationwide demonstrations termed “No Kings,” which saw participation from approximately 7 million individuals across more than 2,700 events in all 50 states.
The 19-second clip, dubbed “King Trump,” features the former president adorned with a crown as he navigates a jet emblazoned with his name, all while the iconic tune “Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins plays in the background. The aircraft is shown releasing a significant amount of waste onto demonstrators in the streets of New York City. The video bears a watermark linking it to its apparent creator, known on social media as @XERIAS_X.
The uproar follows a day filled with mass protests against Trump’s administration, which saw a wide array of celebrities, including Mark Ruffalo, Robert De Niro, Jimmy Kimmel, and Glenn Close, openly supporting the “No Kings” movement.
Adding fuel to the fire, Trump also amplified another AI-generated clip shared by Vice President JD Vance, which features him placing a crown on his head while drawing a sword to the soundtrack of “Hail to the King.”
Responses to Trump’s posts have been polarizing. Critics have labeled the content as mocking and inappropriate given the circumstances, while some supporters have defended it as a form of political humor. The White House account on X (formerly Twitter) further engaged in the rhetoric by sharing a meme depicting Trump and Vance regally crowned above Democratic leaders dressed in sombreros, contributing to the ongoing discourse surrounding the events of the day.
As the divide over these provocative posts continues, the “No Kings” movement remains a focal point of political activism and public sentiment against the backdrop of Trump’s controversial tenure.
