Former President Donald Trump, in a recent interview with Fox News host Mark Levin, suggested that his survival of a July assassination attempt might be a sign that God wants him to “straighten out” the country. During the July 13 rally in Pennsylvania, a shooter grazed Trump’s ear, killing one attendee and injuring two others.

Trump expressed a deeper belief in God’s purpose following the incident, stating, “I’d like to think that God thinks that I’m going to straighten out our country.” He speculated that the gunman was “rushed” due to people noticing him, which may have led to the missed shot.

Trump praised the bravery of Secret Service agents who protected him during the attack and acknowledged the actions of a sniper who neutralized the shooter. However, he criticized the lapse in security that allowed the gunman to position himself on a rooftop. The Secret Service has since faced scrutiny, leading to the resignation of Director Kimberly Cheatle.
