President Donald Trump on Sunday hinted at reviving scrutiny of former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) over the 2013 “Bridgegate” scandal, attacking his longtime critic after Christie appeared on ABC’s This Week.

In a Truth Social post, Trump accused Christie of lying about the lane-closure scheme on the George Washington Bridge and “sacrificing people who worked for him” to avoid prison. He added, “For the sake of JUSTICE, perhaps we should start looking at that very serious situation again? NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW!”

Christie, never charged in connection with Bridgegate, has denied involvement. His former chief of staff, Bridget Kelly, and Port Authority official David Wildstein were convicted but later cleared when the Supreme Court ruled the scheme did not violate federal law.

Christie has said the scandal taught him the importance of close oversight of staff. A renewed investigation could reignite tensions between the former governor and Trump, though Christie currently holds no elected office.
