President Donald Trump signed an executive order Wednesday reversing a federal regulation on water pressure in shower heads, reviving a personal issue he has raised for years. The rule, originally enacted under President Obama and reinstated by President Biden in 2021, limited water flow to conserve resources.

During Oval Office remarks, Trump cited his ongoing frustrations. “You have to stand under a shower for fifteen minutes until it gets wet,” he said. “It comes out drip drip drip. It’s ridiculous.”

The new order lifts restrictions on shower head water flow and encourages Congress to codify the changes. A draft obtained by The Wall Street Journal included the line: “Make America’s Showers Great Again.”

Trump previously rolled back the rule during his first term, only for it to be reversed by Biden. He has repeatedly connected the issue to personal grooming, stating in 2020, “My hair — I don’t know about you — but it has to be perfect.”
