Donald Trump dismissed a viral video showing objects tossed from an upstairs White House window, claiming Tuesday it was created with artificial intelligence. “It’s got to be fake,” Trump told reporters, arguing the windows are sealed, bulletproof, and weigh about 600 pounds.

The footage, which appeared online Monday, shows a small black bag and a long white item thrown from the east side of the building. Hours earlier, however, the White House told reporters the video depicted a contractor performing routine maintenance while Trump was away. Officials did not clarify the conflicting statements Tuesday.

Trump, who has highlighted his background in building design while overseeing renovations, insisted the windows cannot open. He recounted how Melania Trump once wanted fresh air from an open window but was told it wasn’t possible.

Hany Farid, a digital forensics expert at UC Berkeley, reviewed the footage and found no signs of AI manipulation, noting that shadows, movement, and flags all appeared consistent. Former first lady Michelle Obama also once remarked publicly that White House windows do not open.
