Vice President Kamala Harris agreed to a CNN-hosted debate with former President Donald Trump on October 23, but Trump declined. Harris wrote on X, urging Trump to join, while her campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, said Trump should have no issues accepting.
At a rally in North Carolina, Trump said it was “too late” for another debate, as voting had already begun. He referenced a missed Fox News debate opportunity earlier in October and dismissed the idea of a third debate after one took place on September 10.
Following that debate, polls showed a 5-point surge for Harris, prompting Trump to state on Truth Social, “THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” However, he hinted last week that another debate could happen depending on his mood.
Harris and Trump have only debated once so far this election cycle.
