Former President Trump has intensified his criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her recent meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “insulting.” This comes as the Israel-Gaza conflict becomes a pivotal issue in the upcoming presidential race.

Trump condemned Harris for missing Netanyahu’s speech to Congress due to a scheduling conflict and accused her of failing to preside over the session, a non-mandatory role for the vice president. He claimed her “ineptness” would delay the release of hostages held by Hamas and prolong the war.

Despite Harris’s emphasis on Israel’s right to self-defense, she advocated for minimizing civilian casualties in Gaza. Her remarks signaled a possible shift from President Biden’s stance, reflecting internal Democratic Party divisions.

Netanyahu, who also met with Biden and Trump, expressed hope for U.S.-mediated talks for a ceasefire and hostage release. Former national security adviser John Bolton noted Harris’s “icy” demeanor and strong words, suggesting a serious signal to Netanyahu. This incident underscores the scrutiny on U.S. policy toward Israel and Gaza in the election.
