Former President Donald Trump, facing a court appearance regarding an alleged hush money payment to Stormy Daniels, shared a post on Truth Social comparing himself to Jesus. The post, coming from an unidentified sender, quoted Psalm 109:3–8, relating Trump’s current legal battles, including a separate civil business fraud case, to Jesus’ persecution.

Trump expressed his appreciation for the comparison, amidst a deadline to pay or bond a $454 million fine related to the business fraud case. The case, led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, accuses Trump and executives of inflating his net worth for financial gains. Trump denies wrongdoing, attributing political motives to James’ actions and warning of property seizure if the payment isn’t met. His lawyers argue the difficulty of meeting the bond demand, while Trump considers using his available funds for his campaign rather than the bond.
