Donald Trump’s campaign responded to controversy over a boat displaying swastikas and Trump flags at a recent boat parade in Jupiter, Florida, calling the incident a “false flag” by “liberal activists.” The boat, which featured neo-Nazi insignia, was part of a parade attended by Trump supporters, and advocacy groups such as the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and StopAntisemitism identified those on board as neo-Nazis.

Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt claimed the individuals were not true Trump supporters but “liberal activists trying to create fake news.” She cited social media posts showing other Trump supporters using their boat’s engine to spray water on the group as evidence of their opposition to the neo-Nazis. However, no concrete proof was provided to support the false flag claim.

The ADL identified the individuals as members of the Order of the Black Sun, a neo-Nazi group in Florida. StopAntisemitism also named known antisemite Jon Minadeo II as one of the people involved. Despite this, Trump’s campaign reiterated that the former president “abhors the hatred” seen in the images and emphasized Trump’s stance against bigotry.

Supporters of Trump, including event organizer Carlos Gavidia, also claimed the boat was part of a left-wing effort to sabotage the parade, with some calling the participants “antifa imposters.” Local law enforcement has yet to comment on the matter.
