President Donald Trump announced Friday that the U.S. military carried out another “lethal kinetic strike” on a boat accused of drug trafficking, marking the third such operation this month.

In a Truth Social post accompanied by video footage, Trump said three “male narcoterrorists” were killed in international waters within U.S. Southern Command’s area of responsibility, which includes the Caribbean and South America. “STOP SELLING FENTANYL, NARCOTICS, AND ILLEGAL DRUGS IN AMERICA,” he wrote. No U.S. personnel were reported harmed.

Earlier strikes, also revealed by Trump, were said to target vessels from Venezuela, though Friday’s announcement did not identify the boat’s origin. Venezuela has not commented on the latest incident, but tensions between the two governments remain high. President Nicolás Maduro has denounced U.S. naval deployments near Venezuela as a “criminal and bloody threat.”

The U.S. Navy has deployed several warships off Venezuela and stationed F-35 jets in Puerto Rico for anti-cartel missions. Venezuelan aircraft have twice intercepted U.S. ships in recent weeks.

Some Democrats have challenged the legality of the strikes. Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) said Trump’s actions were an “outrageous violation of the law,” warning of executive overreach. The White House argued the operations fall under the president’s constitutional authority as commander in chief.
